29th Jan: When you fit the smart meters, are you still going make excessive charges on those who have prepayment arrangements? Surely everyone's price per unit should drop dramatically as you do not have to employ the same amount of meter readers. Also, why are you still being biased towards the C02 footprint brigade. Have you not read other reports about C02?

Our prepayment prices are, on average, set at the same level as our standard credit prices, despite it costing more to supply prepayment customers than it does to supply customers on credit terms.

Prices are not solely dependant on meter readers - other impacts include the price at which we can buy gas and electricity and the direct costs of transportation and distribution. There are also Government taxes - so it's difficult to predict where prices will be in 10 years' time when all of the smart meters will be installed.

Regarding CO2, you can see details on what we do to mitigate our environmental impact here: www.npower.com/rwenpowercr/5_responsible_business/5_2_low_carbon_economy/index.html
