Thanks for your interest. The rollout of smart meters to all customers will not start for some time. Government and Ofgem are currently designing the framework for the rollout, which is expected to start at the end of 2012. It will take until 2020 to complete the exercise, as there are some 47m meters which will need to be changed across the country. There are no firm plans as yet for how this will happen but npower will keep customers up to date with any progress.
