09 Feb: I think Smart Meters are a good idea and can help people identify those things that they didn't know were costing them money. I'm just disappointed that they aren't available TODAY - and have to wait until some point in the future. In fact it's a little bit like finding out years later that there was a cheaper option available for the same product but were never told! I know I'm wasting money - and therefore I'm begging npower for help. Do you think it would be possible for npower to provide some form of real-time smart metering to us early adopters? It may not be good for your business since I'll be spending less but it will be better for all of us...Thanks.

Smart meter

Thanks for your interest. While the full rollout of smart meters is still some way off, we're able to offer you a free display device that can be used in conjunction with your existing electicity meter. Basically, a small communications device (which you can install yourself) simply clips on to your existing electricity meter and sends information about your energy use to a separate display, which could be in your kitchen or living room. This will help you to identify areas where you can make savings and reduce the amount of electricity you use.

To received one of these display devices, sign up to online billing or take out a hometeam policy with us and book an appointment.
