28 Jun '10: I live in a small block of 20 flats only two storeys high ie 10 ground floor and 10 first floor flats. They were built in 1990. How would I know if they had cavity wall insulation installed? Is it possible to do all the flats at once if I persuaded my neighbours? Thanks

Any property built after 1930 should be built with a cavity of some sort. However to make absolutely sure, we can arrange a free of charge home survey for you? If you manage to convince your neighbours to go along with your thoughts, then as long as the properties are not council or housing association owned, each person would need to ring individually to ask for cavity insulation.

I hope this helps? If you need any more info, just call us on 0800 980 2135.
