14 Jan '11: We have a 1930's house with solid walls. These can be insulated either internally or externally to make significant savings. Do you offer any assistance?

The best solution for solid walls tends to be external wall insulation, which is a product developed to improve the thermal performance of buildings by applying an insulating layer and a decorative weatherproof finish to the external wall surfaces of a building.

You can find more information about external insulation at www.eaga.com/external-wall-insulation

This method however, can be relatively expensive and unfortunately, at the moment we do not offer any subsidy for this through our energy efficiency programmes.
