We will always prefer to use an actual meter reading to calculate your bill as opposed to estimating it – this way, we can make sure you’re paying the right amount for the actual energy you are using.
However, there are instances where you may not see a meter reading on your statement. For example, if we received it outside the normal time period you were due to receive your bill, we would use the reading purely to check that your previous readings all fall in line and that your account looks on track.
Also, if the reading does not fall in line with your previous readings, we will not use it and we will contact you to ask for another meter reading.
