4 Aug '10: Can I have a new electricity meter please as it is over 28 years? How can I send my joining meter reading on line as the system is asking for an account number which I do not have at the moment?

Your meter can last for years so unless it's faulty we're unable to change it. When your meter has reached the end of its natural life span you'll be contacted by your local electricity network distribution company (in your instance, EDF Energy) and they'll arrange an appointment to change your meter.

Sorry to hear you're having problems - please just call us on 08451 201 453 and we can take your meter readings from you to update your accounts. We can also give you your account number so you can input future meter readings online.

Just log on to your npower account www.npower.com/at_home/Forms2/MyNpower/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fat_home%2fforms2%2fmynpower%2fsecure%2fmynpower.aspx You'll just need to input your reading and the date when you took it.

Anyone experiencing problems with reading their meter can check out the following info: www.npower.com/web/At_home/customer_service/Sendmeterreading/index.htm
