24 Aug: Why do you only give the direct debit discount after a year? Surely it costs you less to look after a direct debit account from day one?

The savings are accrued over the year and then we pass these on. It’s only slightly cheaper from day one, but there will be times during the year - for instance, during billing cycles, where the savings take a big jump. If you were to switch before then, you may only end up saving a few pounds but by accruing the savings over the year, you will get the full benefit.
