11 Nov: I've been paying large amounts by direct debit and my account is in credit, how soon can you adjust this to reduce my payments?

If your direct debit payment is too high then we can adjust it with immediate effect.

The aim of any direct debit account is to have a zero balance at the end of a 12 month period. There will be certain times of the year when an account could be in credit - normally summer or autumn when most customers use less energy. The credit is carried over to the winter period when more energy is used.

To keep your account and direct debit payments accurate and up to date it is important that you provide meter readings.

You can send us a meter reading online in a few simple steps.
