02nd Sept '11: I produce electricity under the FIT scheme (wind turbine and PVs) and am a consumer of npower - this is a situation that more and more UK households are likely tol move to yet I see nothing in the npower literature about how best to balance the two to the mutual benefit of both parties. Our production this year will be about (gross) 10000 kwh and we will still use about 3300 worth of electricity from npower. What about creating a club of producers to share experience and an npower initiative to encourage the best approach to balancing production and consumption?

We loved your idea!

Unfortunately, we're just not equipped at the moment to deliver this level of energy efficiency advice but we're looking into how to address this.

In the meantime, the Energy Saving Trust is able to help advise consumers but you're right, an inititative such as the one you have suggested would be really useful.
