21st Dec: Why don't I qualify for free loft and cavity wall insulation as it will make my home warmer and save me money?

Money

To be eligible for free home insulation you must be a resident in mainland Great Britain and either own your own home or rent from a private landlord (you will not qualify if your house is rented from a social housing provider). Also, you or someone you live with, must be at least 70 years of age or over, or in receipt of one or more of the following:

• Council tax benefit
• Housing benefit
• Income support
• Income-based Jobseeker's allowance
• Attendance allowance
• Disability living allowance
• War disablement pension which includes either mobility supplement or constant attendance allowance
• Disablement pension which includes constant attendance allowance
• State pension credit
• Child tax credit where the relevant annual household income is £16,040 or less
• Working tax credit where the relevant annual household income is £16,040 or less
