22nd Dec '11: Hi, we are currently using npower for both electricity and gas supply. We are moving abroad at the end January 2012 and wonder what I need to do in order to cancel the contract and get correctly billed for the last period. Would I need to cancel the direct debit or is that done by you?

Hi Therese,

This is a very good question!

All you need to do is to take your final meter readings and call us with them, we will use these to close the accounts down and to produce you final bills.

We can cancel your direct debit you can cancel it yourself, then when you call us with the final meter readings ask for us to manually calculate the final balances which you could then pay straight away over the phone.
