3 Jun: We pay our npower bill by direct debit. However my brother, his wife and family (5 people in all) have just moved out of our house and so now there is just 2 of us. Is there any chance you can amend the direct debit as obviously our fuel consumption has decreased?
3 Jun: There are five people living in our house and we used my visa debit card as a direct debit with you to pay our electricity bill. Could I cancel the direct debit and pay the bill by post? I am leaving the UK and want to cancel my bank account and the rest of the people who live in the house could pay the bill by post. How can I cancel it ? Thank you!
11 May: I'm a single incapacitated lady on benefits. I have been a customer with npower for over 15yrs. My home is totally powered by electric and I do not have a gas meter or supply. Could you tell me why I have never been given a rebate unlike some friends of mine who have been given £20 for being all electric by your company npower? There are a lot of cheaper suppliers who would like a good customer who is always £150 in credit. Should I go to them or live in hope that I may be rewarded for my loyalty by npower?
06 May: I pay by direct debit and am interested in going paperless and having £10 off my bill but you say you have to supply both gas and electricity. As we are all electric and do not have any gas meters or pipes coming into the house, then this is not possible. You supply our fuel for all our needs so can I go paperless? Also, I am buying only one fuel because I have to so can my annual discount be more than £20. It does seem unfair.
06 May: Do I have to cancel my existing direct debit to you when changing to online payments?
28 Apr: I currently have prepayment meters but want to pay by direct debit. Can I do this and if so how?
20 Apr: I have today signed up to a quarterly direct debit for duel fuel to take advantage of the new discounts. According to your literature, the first discount is paid after 12 consecutive months, the next being 1st April 2011. Having just moved to this property and having just received the literature re: discounts etc, I'm therefore unable to sign up until 12th April 2010; will I be eligible for the 2011?
12 Apr '10: I pay both gas and elec bills by direct debit but with different bank accounts. Do I still qualify for the full £100 dual fuel discount?
10 Feb: Why does npower increase the payments they take and for so long that a very large credit balance builds up? Once the account is in credit the monthly payment should be reduced to a more reasonable amount.
28th Jan: We now pay npower £79 for gas and electricity on the standard meter tariff per month by direct debit. We have been quoted £10 cheaper for sign online 17 - will this amount change after 12 months?
11 Nov: I've been paying large amounts by direct debit and my account is in credit, how soon can you adjust this to reduce my payments?
28 Aug: When the price of electricity went down slightly earlier this year why didn't gas go down as well?
24 Aug: Why do you only give the direct debit discount after a year? Surely it costs you less to look after a direct debit account from day one?
24 Aug: If I, as a customer, am in credit on my account after actual meter readings, do you refund the credit or lower my direct debits? Reason for asking is that I am £350 in credit with Scottish Power and they still insist on taking £67 per month on direct debit.
24 Aug: Why do people who take dual fuel (gas and electricity) receive £100 when dual electric only receive £20? I do not have gas to my property so feel the deal is unfair, I pay £1200 approx and a gas/electricity customer could pay less.
20 Jul: It is disgusting that you give people who pay by direct debit a discount. You are penalising people who choose not to. I will never pay by DD, because I have heard that you increase DD payments without telling users first - that is unforgivable!!
